About National Testing Services (NTS) Pakistan
NTS is an autonomous test taking organization in Pakistan. NTS conducts tests and assessments for admissions, scholarships and jobs in various colleges, universities and departments of Pakistan.
Many government and private sector colleges and universities have made NTS test a pre-requisite for admissions and scholarships. And, many government and private sector departments have also made NTS test a pre-requisite for jobs in various departments.
National Testing Services (NTS) Pakistan was established in July 2002, and it is governed by a Management Committee (Board of Governance).
About GAT General (NTS Test)
GAT General Preparation Material and Sample/Practice Questions
GAT General is a standardized examination taken by NTS (National Testing Services) Pakistan, which is required to take, for admission in MS/MPhil programs and also for HEC scholarships. NTS takes GAT General 5 times each year, and the test is administrated in many cities of Pakistan. The test is divided in three parts:
- GAT Verbal Section
- GAT Quantitative Section
- GAT Analytical Reasoning Section
Types of GAT General
There are four types of GAT General for candidates from different disciplines:
GAT-A for Engineering & Technology and Business Education Disciplines.
GAT-B for Social Science and Arts & Humanities Disciplines.
GAT-C for Biological, Agriculture, Veterinary & Physical Sciences Disciplines.
GAT-D for Religious Studies (students coming from Madrassa background).
GAT General Validity
GAT General (NTS Test) is valid for 2 years, for the admissions in MS/MPhil programs and for HEC Scholarships.

The Graduate Assessment Test GAT-SUBJECT is for Ph.D programs. The same test may be used for recruitment of graduates.
Subject test helps to evaluate, analyze, solve problems, understand relationships and interpret material in a specific area of study.
* The test result will remain valid for “TWO YEARS” for admissions.
Candidates with a minimum of eighteen (18) years of education are eligible to appear in the test.
- Candidate intending to improve their previous GAT score can also apply.
- The candidates will have to qualify other specified criteria of the universities.

NTS Test in Pakistan
GAT General (NTS Test) is administrated in 12 cities of Pakistan:
Faisalabad, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta and Rawalpindi.
Optional Cities: (subject to a minimum of 200 registered candidates)
Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Gujranwala and Hyderabad.
